For over 20 years, ESIP meetings have brought together the most innovative thinkers and leaders around Earth observation data, thus forming a community dedicated to making Earth observations more discoverable, accessible and useful to researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and the public. The theme of this year’s meeting is Leading Innovation in Earth Science Data Frontiers.

There is a notable underutilization of geospatial data and tools in stormwater planning, as well as a lack of stakeholder engagement and collaboration across municipal departments and agencies. My efforts seek to use earth observation data to progress stormwater resilience and sustainability in partnership with end-users and management officials. My particular interest in integrated water management is incorporating low impact development, green infrastructure, and satellite-based data to develop robust water systems and approaches that withstand the increasing impacts of urban growth and intense weather events.
